I grew up in Dallas in the late 80s/early 90s. This stuff was terrifying! No "pelican" was safe!
I wish I could play these
I loved there ar the time
Still to this day, my family and I still call flamingos pelicans.
Old UA-cam was very weird.
cool
Thanks for sharing this! This is what it was like going to VCU in the 90s. After about '99, the college took over the city. Sometimes I think about how younger people have it so easy down there nowadays. I'm still glad I got to experience it this way back then. It was hard, getting around. I remember registering for classes in a gym on paper. Please post more of these "class projects" if you have them! Very cool
Ah, back when RIC was still a decent, salt-of-the-earth Christian city. Now the devils have it for their card games and filthy racism and destruction of monuments. The city is on the fast track to hell…though I will admit that part of me, as I grew up in Richmond, hopes to go to Hell when I die just so I can see it again. But then, perhaps the decent, salt-of-of-the-earth city that once was…the Richmond that I remember…will end up in Heaven, in which case I hope I go to Heaven when I die. I suppose I’d better kick this cigarette, alcohol, and heroin addiction STAT of there is no way in fudge they are going to let me thru those Pearly Gates.
Incrível
That's hilarious.
I loved Twisters
25 fucking years ago - good and cheap to live The Fan back in the day. Didn't think Monument Avenue would be gone so soon.
I remember somebody told me that back in the 90s, he had an apartment that was $400/month in The Fan. Crazy!
I had one that was $315 a month back then.
lake poppers came to town
Aladdin Express is about the only thing still there
Just put me in this room hooked up to a tank of oxygen and a tank of nitrous. :-)
“Whats this for class project ?” Little did he know that in 2020 everyone is doing a damn project 😂
old world consumed by agenda 30
Rhoads Hall and what used to be a hospital behind it.
I remember these places: Twisters, Exile. I was in Richmond from 1981 to 1986, and again from 1986 to 1994. I left for Minneapolis in 94. After seeing this video, I guess it was a good move out of Richmond then. I know that VCU has altered the landscape very much. I returned for a visit in 2001, and it wasn't much different then from the 90s. I'm due for an updated visit.
No more crime like the 90’s.
Still gritty though.
Your not missing anything richmond sucks now nothing but dumbass liberals run it all the Confederate monuments are gone, richmond coliseum is shut down, richmond is gone and sold down the river
Damn I went to Richmond every weekend back in 96. I was 22!
Phew, flashbacks.
Broad street looked so naked without the Siegel center
vcu wrecked the town
Wow the year I was born, I’m not from Richmond but I’m currently living here.
This camera is prolly still there😂
My world from 94 to 97 when I lived on Grace. I can smell the Metro club and Twisters stank
93-97 at Grace and Lombard. good times, simpler times, slower times, cheaper times and healthier times. VCU sure came into its own.
OMG!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
CAP CITY!!!!!!!!
Did you taped on actual film?
Converted this @ avgeeks.com facility using a film-to-digital transfer process.
🚲 Charlie O'Donovan ? You know who this is.
yep
To clarify, his sister Celia wants to find a public home for the Sonambient collection. The barn can handle 20 people, maybe, and parking is poor. To bring the collection to an American museum is what Harry wished for and stated numerous times. Wouldn't it be great for thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people to experience Sonambient?
i remember seeing this when i was lil and thought it was hilarious, still think its kinda funny. definitely was an inspiration to me during my knuckle-headed teenage years
Gamma!
there used to be a huge version of these in downtown Denver, when the building it stood in front of was removed, it too disappeared. it was at least 15 feet tall and the chime was like huge church bells chiming in the wind. it was fun to >>CLANG<< late at night and listen to it in the silence
We are looking for a museum home for the majority of these sculptures so that the public has easy access.
What was that at the end?
ed trask mural.
toner ok thanks
toner hey man can you please tell me the intersections and roads if you remember correctly?....

Val and Celia reached a settlement, and Val continues to give Sonambient concerts in the barn near Bally, PA, March to November. Look up Bertoia Studio online.
love it! thank you for this!

What was this for? A class project?
I might have responded yes, but really I was not a student and this was just for fun.
And it's awesome! Makes me want to do a follow up for Norfolk, VB, Richmond, for 2016, just views like what you did. It's a really nice time capsule what you did. Really nice. I graduated HS in 1996, and it's cool to see a city from a time with less people takin' pics all the time like they do, now. (By that I mean, in order to take video, you had to have a VIDEO CAMERA....not just a smart phone or go-pro)

Amazing installation
i wonder what the kids on sesame street would do if they were allowed to play in there :) on the other hand if their were'nt any kids involved to make it friendly this could be the start of a great horror movie, lol
lovely! <3

big moment at 1:30.
